Carpets and furniture can get stained by coffee, wine, grease, or dirt. For coffee stains, use a damp cloth with a little dishwashing liquid. For red wine, cover the stain immediately with salt to draw out the liquid, then wash with cold water. Grease stains can be treated with baking soda – sprinkle on, let it soak in, and vacuum up before washing with soapy water. For difficult stains, professional carpet cleaning may be necessary.
